'Purple Candles' Chinese Astilbe

'Purple Candles' Astilbe has dense, poker-like plumes that emerge a rich violet-red, then lighten up as they age appearing midsummer.  It also has bold, dark green foliage with a coarse texture making a strong color statement in the garden.  It is a member of Astilbe chinensis (Chinese Astilbe) and is a later blooming species useful for extending the bloom season into late summer. Foliage is deeply incised, coarsely textured, and often bronze-green in color.

'Rheinland' Astilbe has clear rose-pink flowers are held in large, diamond-shaped panicles that bloom in early summer.  It is very floriferous and vigorous.  'Rheinland' has large, bold, mid-green foliage and is considered one of the best early pink Astilbes.  It is a member of Astilbe japonica (Japanese Astilbe) which is a species characterized by an early bloom time and glossy green leaves often tinged with red. Astilbe 'Rise and Shine'

'Rise and Shine' Hybrid Astilbe

'Rise and Shine' Astilbe has large 8" long, hot pink, pyramidal plumes with very strong flower stems do not require staking blooming midsummer.  This new Astilbe chinensis hybrid offers superior genetics that result in a more solid root structure and more vibrant flower colors than the straight species. However, they still offer the increased sun and drought tolerance of the chinensis species.
